ARIZONA ASSOCIATION OF GOLD PROSPECTORS
PHOENIX CHAPTER MEETING
Today's Date:
Due to the Summer HEAT AAGP meetings will resume in September
The Arizona Association of Gold Prospectors Phoenix chapter meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month, except for June, July, August and December. During the Summer months there's very little interest in going out in the heat and in December we conduct our monthly meeting at the Annual AAGP Christmas Party.
The meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and usually last until 9:00 p.m. The meetings are held at the Denny's Restaurant located on the Northwest corner of the intersection of I-17 and Dunlap Ave. Meetings are open to members and also prospective new club members and include discussions on a variety of GOLD prospecting and related topics from equipment, techniques, geology, hot spots to find GOLD, local related GOLD prospecting events, to governmental mining and prospecting laws. It's always a friendly forum for those who are serious about GOLD prospecting and want to find out what's hot and what's not.
At each monthly meeting we may present a lecture on minerals and gemstones to help everyone become more educated about what can be found out on the claims and to increase your knowledge of same. A free sample of the mineral or gemstone being discussed is handed out in a small zip-lock bag to all AAGP members pending numbers and availability. Previous lectures include Amber, Amethyst, Blue Topaz, Carnelian Agate, Clear Quartz Crystals, Diamond, Emerald, Green Aventurine, Iron Pyrite, Kyanite, Manmade Silicon, Peridot, Platinum, Rose Quartz, Silicon Carbide and Turquoise. If you missed the meeting you missed getting your FREE sample. Future lectures will include Yellow/Orange Calcite, Garnet, Peacock Ore, Apache Tears, Galena, Petrified Wood, and Optical Calcite. Attending the meetings often as an AAGP member can give you your own mineral and gemstone collection!
If you plan on attending please be sure to call first to confirm the meeting is still scheduled and to make your reservations. For further information on local chapter meetings, please contact the AAGP at (623) 934-6882.
Members be sure to bring your AAGP Membership Badge for the random FREE PRIZE or GOLD drawing!
